LiveJournal's S2 Styles
This is a repost, my Lj cut went wonky in an edit...

First of all, thank you for taking a moment or two to read this, and extra thanks if you can help!

I am using a custom style, if you view my journal main page, there's a banner image. I've tried to make the image cover that whole brown area so that it's a nice big banner. Changing image size did not help, and I don't believe specifying the dimensions did either.

Also, I think that I need CSS to make my navigation-bar match my theme. I have no CSS knowledge really, but I can use find/replace in notepad to switch out color codes if someone has the code to achieve this? http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ says I am using 1280 X 720.

Apr 9th, 2011 - 09:21 pm - Second sidebar in Smooth Sailing
☺ name » gaëlle rainbow columns
Is it possible to have another sidebar in Smooth Sailing? I have one on the right that's very long, and I would like to move some sideboxes to a second sidebar on the left.
I asked in s2smoothsailing (here) but unfortunately, it didn't work.

Thanks for any help!

Mar 19th, 2011 - 01:38 am - Adding my own link to the header?
TC- Sexy body shot
Hi, on my journal (crimsonseastorm) I'm using this layout by Fruitstyle and I figured out how to adjust almost everything like I wanted. The only thing I'm having trouble with is adding a link to the header bar. Along with the recent entries/user info/memories/etc I'd like to put a link to where my banner came from. It didn't look like I could do it in the regular settings so I assume I have to do it with the CSS coding but I know almost nothing nothing about writing it myself.

Can anyone help me? Or point me to a tutorial somewhere? I don't even really know what I'm looking for so any help is appreciated :)
Mar 18th, 2011 - 06:36 pm - Opal (Libra OSWD) stretching and breaking
Engel fliegen einsam
Hey everyone. Right now I'm using a stylesheet created for Opal (Libra OSWD) and I completely love it - except for one minor detail that seems to stretch to the base stylesheet of Libra. If friends on my reading list post images or youtube videos the layout stretches and breaks. Is there some kind of thing I can add to the core style that would eliminate this problem?

Thanks for any and all help!

P.S. I've tried looking here and there for about a week and couldn't find anything, hence the asking. Finally. I'm so slow, haha

OH AND WHILE I'M HERE, ever since LJ introduced custom userheads my overrides for those have broken. Is there a generic link I can stick in there to keep LJ from trying to revert to the custom userheads and ... failing, and breaking everything? Answered!

I would like to create different backgrounds and headers to the different posts. Please tell me how to do it. How do I link a specific article with the layer without linking whole journal to the layer?

Many thanks in advance!
Jan 25th, 2011 - 12:50 pm - Missing date
I recently got my journal's layout switched to this one and I'm having trouble getting the date to show up on each of my entries like in the image in that link. I looked over the coding but it looks fine to me. Anyone else have any ideas?

Gah. I just created a community for the tv show Private Practice, and I am having such issues with the layout. I'm used to using S1 layouts, and I can't seem to find any S2 ones that let you use your own header. Or, at least, I'm not sure on the customization page where one would put the header URL.

Anyway, I want to use this picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/star22/0000043450_20070926182239.jpg

I've looked at several of the available layouts that would match that picture, and none of them seem to allow customized headers.

So, I realize I'm an idiot and am probably missing something really obvious. Any help would be greatly appreciated, though.

Oct 10th, 2010 - 02:11 am - Entry footer HTML
Fanfic by Erika
Is there a style besides Expressive/Mixit that has the "Entry Footer HTML" in the customize menu?

If not, is there a way to hack something similar (so there's text/images/what have you) in between entries: see the copyright notice on 65redroses, the most well known journal I know that uses this) on any of the other styles using CSS?
